Wires and Nerve: Volume 1 by Marissa Meyer

I am so so so looking forward to this one! The Lunar Chronicles is one of my favorite series ever and I'm also a huge fan of graphic novels.
I am a little worried the story won't be very...robust? For me, sometimes, with graphic novels - especially ones that already have a 'real' book background - the details are sometimes glossed over.
We'll see though as this one should be arriving today!

City of Saints & Thieves by Natalie C. Anderson - because it's billed as a ya 'thriller' and you all know how I feel about those!
Really curious to see if it will actually thrill - cause, that part is sometimes lacking ;)
Pretty sure this one didn't hit my radar sooner because that cover just isn't doing anything for me. The figure doesn't stand out enough - I didn't even see it at first.
I know - I know! I shouldn't judge but still...first impressions and all.
In any case - I would love to give this one a shot!

Kindred: A Graphic Novel Adaptation by Octavia E. Butler and Damian Duffy
Octavia Butler is my favorite sci-fi author and I was so sad when she passed away.
Having something new of hers to read, even if it's an adaptation makes me incredibly happy.
I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this one but I'm pretty sure a finished copy will find it's way to me soon!

Beat The Backlist 2017 Reading Challenge

Beat The Backlist 2017 Reading Challenge is hosted by Novel Knight and is focused on getting some of those older titles off your TBR lists.

New books are very *shinny thing* *shinny thing* BUT once the newness wares off they can sometimes be pushed to the sidelines in favor of more *shinny things!*

Seriously, can't publishers STOP putting out books for like a year or so so we can all catch up?

(seriously kidding cause new books are life!)

Anyway!

The details:

• No set levels or number of books - you set your own goals / pace (love!)
• Books must be non 2017 releases - so basically, nothing coming out this year but ANY book that was released previously counts. 
• Post it up on social media! We can all ra-ra-ra each other on all year!

Happy 2017!

I almost can't believe 2016 is over!

So. Many. Things. Happened.

It's actually a little hard to process and I still don't know how to feel about some things.

Fortunately, there are some things I do know.

I know what I want and what I love.

I know what I need and what I hope for.

It's the little things - always has to be the little things.

So far 2017 is feeling good and I'm going with it.

Some new things planned - blog, reading, Instagram wise and I'm looking forward to putting in the work to get things where I wan them.

I'm forever grateful for my little chunk of the interwebs!

Wishing you all the very best in the year to come. It may be hard and it may be horrible but love and kindness can always be found if you have hope.
