Hello and Welcome!

Red House Books is going through a bit of a update!

I've always had a pretty clear vision of what I wanted this space to be but I've been detoured from my path by...lots and lost of other people's opinions and ways of doing things...

I'm committed to this little chunk of the interweb but I've also branched out into other places so! Now it's time to think of Red House Books as more of a hub of all things me! And Me is a hell of a lot of book love!

Stay tuned!

In My Mailbox - February 4, 2012

In My Mailbox is hosted by The Story Siren :)

Only a few books for me this week, which is good because I recently did this:

That's about 75% of all the books in the house - about 90% of all my young adult books.
All on my dinning room table. You can't see it but there is an extra brace under the table holding the middle up!
Don't ask what possessed me to organize almost every bookcase in the house last weekend but well, yeah, I did!

Anyone have some extra money to donate to the Emily-has-a-problem-that-can-be-solved-by-adding-an-addition-to-her-house-for-a-home-library Fund? No? Worth a shot ;)

Anyway!

Here is what I got this week:
(links are to Goodreads)
(sorry for the slightly blurry pic!)

For Review
Concealed by Sang Kromah
Why? I accepted this one for review because it really sounded interesting. Here's a quote from the prologue - I'm hooked already! "This is the story of how my quest to be normal proved I was anything but. This is the story of how one wish changed it all. This is the story of how I fell in love with the faceless boy from my dreams. This is the story of how I died."

Bookmooch
Slide by Jill Hathaway ARC
Why? A 2012 debut! Paranormal story that sounds kind of like Lisa McMann's Dream Catcher's series.

Fracture by Megan Miranda ARC
Why? I didn't know this was an ARC when I mooched it - I already have an ARC and was looking for a finished copy as I really enjoyed this story. I'll be giving this one away soon :)

Illuminate by Aimee Agresti ARC
Why? Another 2012 debut! I'm so happy to have a snagged a copy of this one! Bookmooch really pulled through for me this week :)

So, what's in your mailbox? I'm not around today but leave a link and I'll stop by tomorrow :)
Happy Reading everyone!

  2. You got some great books this week! I want to read Illuminate myself. Also...I feel your pain, I'm about to organize my bookshelves. I'm trying to come up with a plan of attack before I start though, otherwise I'll be completely swamped.
