Hello and Welcome!

Red House Books is going through a bit of a update!

I've always had a pretty clear vision of what I wanted this space to be but I've been detoured from my path by...lots and lost of other people's opinions and ways of doing things...

I'm committed to this little chunk of the interweb but I've also branched out into other places so! Now it's time to think of Red House Books as more of a hub of all things me! And Me is a hell of a lot of book love!

Stay tuned!

Monthly Reads - December 2010

Hello New Year! Well, almost :)
I'm doing nothing tonight - except maybe playing a killer game of Killerbunnies with my guy. (What? You've never heard of Killerbunnies? You are missing out man!)

Lots of stuff happened this month but I can't remember all of it :) Can't believe Christmas is actually over. The tree is still up and there are still a few more family members to visit and a few more presents to open and I'm on vacation so it's all good to me!

December was different - not much snow in NH really but WAY TOO MUCH in NY where I spent Christmas. How good of a job did NYC do in cleaning the streets of Queens? Here are two examples:

That top one would be a city bus - abandoned a few blocks from my Dad's house.
The bottom one is my Dad's block - taken out the windshield of my no-wheel drive, 4 inches of ground clearance car. Oh the joy!

You know what is truely joyous though? The number of books I read in December - oh yeah!

01. The 39 Clues Book Three: The Sword Thief by Peter Lerangis
02. The 39 Clues Book Four: Beyond the Grave by Jude Watson
03. The 39 Clues Book Five: The Black Circle by Patrick Carman
04. The 39 Clues Book Six: In Too Deep by Jude Watson
05. The 39 Clues Book Seven: The Viper's Nest by Peter Lerangis
06. The 39 Clues Book Eight: The Emperor's Code by Gordon Korman
07. Entice by Carrie Jones
08. The 39 Clues Book Nine: Storm Warning by Linda Sue Park
09. The 39 Clues Book Ten: Into the Gauntlet by Margaret Peterson Haddix
10. Out fro Blood by Alyxandra Harvey
11. Three Quarters Dead by Richard Peck
12. The Good Neighbors by Holly Black
13. Ghost in the Machine: Skeleton Creek Book 2 by Patrick Carman
14. The Crossbones: Skeleton Creek Book 3 by Patrick Carman
15. Emily the Strange: The Lost Days by Rob Reger
16. Angelfire by Courtney Allison Moulton
17. Twilight The Graphic Novel Vol 1 by Stephenie Meyer

Woo hoo! I think I did pretty good :)
I've very much looking forward to January and 2011! How about you guys? How was your December?

  1. Killer Bunnies is pretty fun! I love the pictures of snow! The area I live in looks like some variation of that from mid-October until Mid-April, with flurries in May and June, and sometimes July. Yay for snow... ;)

  2. Funny, I have very little memory of December, it went by so quickly!

  3. My tree is still up too...I dread having to do all the work of putting everything away. Great job on all the books read this month!

  4. I didn't get much reading done this month. Way too much overtime.

  5. It doesn't really snow in Florida, but if it's gonna keep being this cold it might as well! Ooh, Entice! I need to get my hands on that book!

  6. I am fairly jealous that you've already read Angelfire. I cannot wait to get my hands on a copy! Good things come to those who *patiently* wait...

  7. You did! I only read about 13.. I think. :) Haven't played killerbunnies, but have heard of it. May check it out now that you claim it's awesomeness. I did however play two long games of Carcassone with my hubby and my sis and her hubby. Fun game. I won once and got second place the other time. Very fun but now made more competitive with some of the expansions. :) Happy New YEar!

  8. December really just flew by. We did have a white Christmas but not nearly as white as yours was in NYC. Major storms here today though and now all the snow is gone.

  9. Wow, and I thought MY streets looked bad...at least the snow plow went through once...(but then again, doesn't everyone take the subway in Queens/NY :)) Also, I'm impressed with all the books you read. Props.

  10. They do good clearing the snow here, but where I use to live it could be 4-5 days before someone made it down those roads.

  12. Just went and checked to see how many books I read in December and it's 15 books. And I can't wait to read Angelfire and I still want to pick of the Twilight graphic novel.

  13. Hahah!!!! Ok, so we were almost around the same area when the blizzard hit. Good thing that where I am, we have very efficient snow plowers. I feel so bad!!!! NYC is taking a very long time getting rid of the snow in the outerboroughs. I have a lot of friends in Queens and I'm sure they went through the same thing!

Impressive list read for December! I don't think I accomplished as much as you did. School and finals. Poo.
