Quick Thoughts:
Loved the fantasy in this one! Removed from reality with very cool paranormal elements.

What I didn't like:
The story line is a little predictable.

What I liked:
The fantasy was spot on. There was lots of details and a good back story. After being reunited with the ocean, Evie discovers her destiny in the form of an adorable character. I don't want to give too much away but the fact that who Evie discovers is powerful, loyal, cute, smart and hers forever makes for some great story telling.

The plot twists were ok. Predictable but it worked with the story.

Reminded Me Of:
The fantasy and magical aspects reminded me of Sharon Shinn's Truth Teller's series. The paranormal elements however were very unique.

Who Would Enjoy It:
A perfect fit for younger readers. Nothing too mature and the storyline moves along well. A perfect stand alone book for young adult fantasy fans.
