Hello and Welcome!

Red House Books is going through a bit of a update!

I've always had a pretty clear vision of what I wanted this space to be but I've been detoured from my path by...lots and lost of other people's opinions and ways of doing things...

I'm committed to this little chunk of the interweb but I've also branched out into other places so! Now it's time to think of Red House Books as more of a hub of all things me! And Me is a hell of a lot of book love!

Stay tuned!

Debut Author Updates

Hey folks, The MASSIVE LIST has been updated!! What is the Massive List you ask?

It's basically my own attempt to keep up on all the 2010 debut author books coming out. So many books! I love it!

In this past update I:
*Double checked release dates for May and June - updated those listings accordingly
*ADDED TWO BOOKS
The Thirteenth Chime by Emma Michaels - Friday Aug 13, 2010 by Bokheim Publishing
The Blending Time by Michael Kinch - October 1, 2010 by Flux
*Updated the release date for Paranormalcy by Kiersten White from the end of September to it's new date of Aug 31st (woo hoo!)

AND

Because I'm insane -- I started the Massive List for 2011 authors....hehehehe. It has it's very own page next to the 2010 ML -- check it out if you dare!

As always, I would love your help with these lists. If you are a debut author of a book coming out in 2010 or 2011 and you would like to be included on my Massive Lists please either comment below or send me an email -- WilowRaven[at]yahoo.com. I would love it!!

Any mistakes are mine alone and if you find any (spelling errors, release date errors, books that shouldn't be on the list, ect.) please let me know!!

Happy Reading everyone!

Seriously, I don't much go in for book trailers but they have been slowly growing on me and The Dark Divine was such an amazing book AND this trailer is pretty awesome! (too big to embed here so click on over to Bree's page and watch it, watch it, watch it!)

Watch it!

She has it all—smarts, talent, humor, and style. . . .
Is it enough to survive middle school?
Countdown to a 7th Grade Meltdown
1. Your BFF moves away.
2. Someone steals your diary and reveals your deepest secrets—to the entire class.
3. You have one chance to become a rock star and one chance to totally blow it. Guess what!? All three happened to me! School's a disaster already. Don't get me wrong—I love Brookdale Academy and I have a fabulous crew of friends. (At least, I think I do.) But, if I'm going to survive, I need all the help I can get!

Bought:
I think I squealed a little when I saw this one on the shelf - last copy and it's all mine!
(from Goodreads)
Something strange is stalking the small town of Junction…
When junior Jess Gillmansen gets called out of class by Guidance, she can only presume it’s for one of two reasons. Either they’ve finally figured out who wrote the scathing anti-jock editorial in the school newspaper or they’re hosting yet another intervention for her about her mom. Although far from expecting it, she’s relieved to discover Guidance just wants her to show a new student around—but he comes with issues of his own including a police escort.
The newest member of Junction High, Pietr Rusakova has secrets to hide--secrets that will bring big trouble to the small town of Junction—secrets including dramatic changes he’s undergoing that will surely end his life early.

So, what's in your mailbox?

Monthly Reads - June 2010

Hello July! Time for sun and vacations and heat and bugs and more bugs and then some more heat. Isn't it great? I'm really looking forward to this month as I will be taking an entire week to go on vacation - haven't done that in way too long! Gotta make sure to leave room in the suitcase for lots of books.

June was pretty awesome. Took a extremely wonderful long weekend vacation to Maine with the family, the weather wasn't too too hot most of the time and the bugs haven't started attacking me yet! Also was able to spend some time organizing my books....all those lovely lovely books....

I said I would do better then May (reading wise) so lets see if I did....

Read In June
 1. The Gardener by S.A. Boden
 2. Virals by Kathy Reichs
 3. Faery Rebels: Spell Hunter by R.J. Anderson
 4. The Reinvention of Edison Thomas by Jacqueline Houtman
 5. Picture The Dead by Adele Griffin and Lisa Brown
 6. The Tension of Opposites by Kristina Mc Bride
 7. Clementine, Friend of the Week by Sara Pennypacker
 8. Prophecy of the Sisters by Michelle Zink
 9. Guardian of the Dead by Karen Healey
10. Jekel Loves Hyde by Beth Fantaskey

Ok - not bad, not bad :) Got through 8 books in May so yeah, I did do better. Wonder how July will go!

How did June turn out for you guys?
